The Power Of A Bond

Hello!  Jay Knotts from LeveragePoint with our second blog post and I am incredibly pumped about sharing.  Today I want to talk about our need for a refuge and a source of wisdom, strength and encouragement in our lives.  These are the core longings within us all that must be fulfilled correctly or we will find ourselves filling this void in survival mode, pouring anything into our hearts (not good).  Our personal, professional, and relational lives and goals truly hinge upon this reality of what is known as bonding.  Through bonding or the absence of it, you learned to believe you were worthy of love or not and whether trusted others could give you the love you needed and still need.

Regardless of your position, power, and achievements you might have accomplished so far, there is a human being inside of you at the core that possesses deep needs and beliefs about self and others.  These needs being filled or not and the resulting impact whether healthy or unhealthy upon our lives is beyond significant.  This can truly determine why you love, act, and feel the way that you do.  Yes, it really does!  And, it can dramatically impact your career and biggest goal pursuits and accomplishments at a radical level.

In the movie The Wizard of Oz, the Tinman needed a heart.  The Lion needed courage and the Scarecrow needed a brain.  Dorothy needed to find her way home.  Through their journey together, both good and bad (I am still freaked out by the flying monkeys!) they bonded tightly by eventually being a refuge and an encouragement to each other.  Together they found what they needed, whether it was to reclaim a heart, discover courage, or realize they had a brain all along.  For Dorothy, it was the joy of feeling a sense of home through the bond and eventually going to the physical place of home.

Life Coaching is a process whereby you and a coach form an alliance, a working bond built off trust, a refuge, and a source of strength and encouragement.  Together over time, the coaching process explores the heart, develops the courage to chase your dreams, and helps coach you to leverage the brain for your greatest results ever.  If bond issues are presently affecting your life, life coaching can coach you through your beliefs and experience of it all and develop new beliefs, which will create new emotions, drive new behaviors, and create the awesome life and career results you greatly desire.  After all, there is no place like the experience of home.
